Roles in ALPRO
What each of the five roles can do, and where each one works.
Roles in ALPRO
Every ALPRO user has one role, and the role decides what they see and what they can change. There are five.
The five roles
| Role | Works from | What they do |
|---|---|---|
| Super Admin | Web | Sets up the account: companies, properties, users and platform settings. Sees everything in the organization. |
| Property Manager | Web | Runs the day to day of their properties: units, residents, charges and payments, work orders, amenities, announcements and votes. |
| Board Member | Web | Reviews their assigned properties in read-only mode: finances, reports, work orders, votes and documents. |
| Owner | Phone | Sees their units, their account statement, pays, submits maintenance requests, books amenities and votes. |
| Tenant | Phone | Sees the unit they rent, their charges, submits maintenance requests and books amenities. |
Read-only means read-only
Board Members can open the same screens as a Property Manager for their assigned properties, but every action is disabled. This is by design: the board oversees, the manager operates. If a Board Member needs something changed, they ask the Property Manager.
Which properties does each person see
A role says what you can do; access says where. A Property Manager only works with the properties they were given access to, a Board Member only with their assigned properties, and residents only with their own units. How access works explains how a Super Admin sets this up.
Example
At Miami Beach:
- Laura, Property Manager, manages Ocean Tower A and B: she creates charges, registers payments and closes work orders there.
- Pedro, Board Member of Ocean Tower A, opens the same reports Laura uses, but cannot edit anything.
- Sofía owns unit 1204 in Ocean Tower A: from her phone she checks her balance and reports a leak, which Laura receives as a work order.
FAQ
Can one person have two roles? An ALPRO user has one role. If someone on your team needs a different one, ask your Super Admin.
Why can a Board Member not edit anything? The board decides by voting: board motions are approved or rejected with the Board Members' ballots. What a Board Member does not do is operate the record: charges, payments, units and work orders stay in the hands of the management team.
