Properties and unitsCreate a property

Create a property

Add a new building to ALPRO, choose its time zone and decide its billing basics on day one.

Create a property

A property is a building or community you manage. Creating one takes a minute; this page also tells you which decisions are worth making at creation time so billing starts right.

Before you start

You need a role that can manage properties (Super Admin or Property Manager). Board Members can view properties but not create them.

Steps

  1. Open Properties and select New Property.
  2. Under Identification, enter the Property Name and the Address. Both are required.
  3. Choose the Time zone. The default is America/New_York. ALPRO uses it to calculate local due dates for payment reminders.
  4. Optional: expand Payment configuration (optional) to set how billing works for this property. If you leave it closed, the defaults apply: payments are applied to the oldest charges first (FIFO), charges are generated on day 1 of the month, they come due 10 days later, and no late fee is charged.
  5. Optional: add a Property Photo and a Property Logo.
  6. Select New Property to save. You should see the toast Property created successfully and the new building in the list.

After creating it

  • Add its units, one by one or all at once: see Bulk upload units.
  • Fine-tune billing anytime from the property's Settings: time zone, late fees, payment configuration, monthly charge items and payment reminders. See Property settings.

Example

Laura creates Ocean Tower A for Miami Beach. She enters the name and address, keeps the America/New_York time zone, and expands Payment configuration (optional) to set the charge generation day to 1 and the due period to 15 days, because that is what the association approved. She skips the photo for now; it can be added later with Edit Property.

FAQ

I got a duplicate name warning. Can I still save? Yes. ALPRO warns you that a property with that name already exists in your organization, but it does not block you. Prefer distinct names: several screens and uploads find properties by name.

Can I turn a property off? A Super Admin can deactivate a property from the list. A deactivated property stops generating charges and stops accepting new bookings, and the change requires a written Justification. Activating it again resumes both.

Can I delete a property? There is a Delete action and it cannot be undone. If the building had any activity, prefer deactivating it so the history stays.
